DaNiya Warren-McClure, originally from Washington, D.C., first developed her love for basketball while learning the values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. She graduated from Coolidge High School, where she competed both on and off the court, building a foundation that inspired her to pursue her education and athletic career at the collegiate level. After high school, she attended Iowa Western Community College and Richard Bland College, continuing to sharpen her skills as a student-athlete. For DaNiya, basketball has always been more than a sport—it is a space of peace, growth, and competition. Her favorite aspect of the game is the relationships it builds and the lessons it teaches about resilience and trust.

Off the court, DaNiya enjoys shopping, working out, spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and coloring. Her faith is also an important part of her life, as she values her relationship with God for keeping her grounded and balanced.

She chose Virginia University of Lynchburg because of its strong sense of community, opportunities for academic and athletic growth, and the chance to be part of a program built on hard work and dedication. DaNiya believes VUL is the right place for her to continue developing as both a student and an athlete, and she is excited for the journey ahead.
