Alethea “Noodles” Bearfield, a proud Newark, New Jersey native from “Brick City,” began her basketball journey at Arts High School, graduating in 2019. She went on to play one year at Union County College before transferring to Essex County College, where she earned her associate degree in 2024. For Alethea, basketball is more than just a sport—it’s about teamwork, growth, and the constant opportunity to learn and improve.

The daughter of Eunice Bearfield and Michael Culbreth, Alethea is the only girl on both sides of her family, a role that has shaped her resilience, determination, and drive.

Off the court, she enjoys playing instruments and skating, activities that fuel her creativity and keep her active. Known affectionately as “Noodles,” she chose to continue her basketball career at Virginia University of Lynchburg because she wanted to be part of building something from the ground up. She also credits her decision to the trust and guidance she found in Coach Walker, who she values as both a leader on the court and a mentor in life.
