Men's Basketball: Gutsy Back-To-Back Performances

MEN’S BASKETBALL: GUTSY BACK-TO-BACK PERFORMANCES

Coach Johnson’s Men’s Basketball Team showed tremendous fight in their Friday matchup. Our young Dragons kept the game close through halftime, with veteran leadership shining bright:

Filaun Paythress led the scoring with 16 points.
Senior PG Jacob Newman, NCCAA First Team returner, added 14 points.
Freshman standout Derek Todd, Jr. contributed 13 points.

Despite the loss, the Dragons recorded a season-high 75 points against a seasoned Golden Bulls squad—another strong sign of this team’s rapid development.

The team returned to action on Saturday against Livingstone College, battling hard in another competitive matchup.

Dontate Creedland led the scoring with 16 points.
Freshmen Derek Todd, Jr. (13 points) and Jarek Sasser (14 points).

The Dragons fell to the Blue Bears, but the growth, energy, and resilience on display speak volumes about the program’s direction.
